Beverly Smith
Chief Financial Officer
Our Chief Financial Officer Beverly Smith, came to work for
PLCCA, Inc. in 1994. Mrs. Smith's background is in accounting and
management with over 16 years of financial management experience in corporate
environments, including seven years with McDonald's Corporation. She
received her BA from Concordia University with a major in Organizational
Management. Mrs. Smith began her career with our organization as the
Assistant Director of Finance. Mrs. Beverly Smith is responsible for the
oversight of all of PLCCA's 30-plus programs.
In addition to her work here at the organization, Mrs. Smith was
recently appointed as a Federal Head Start Fiscal Reviewer, a position that
enables her to ensure all governmental regulations are followed and standards
are met and exceeded to maintain funding for the head start sites across the
nation. Her unique perspective and strong analytical/managerial background
blend together as PLCCA, Inc. continues to grow under her leadership.
Claudette Harrell
Senior Executive Vice President of Administration
Ms. Harrell joined the agency in July 1994, as Coordinator for Proviso Leyden Housing Development Corporation, a subsidiary of P.L.C.C.A. Inc. She moved up the ranks at P.L.C.C.A. from Personnel Manager, Director of Human Resources, Vice President of Human Resources & Public Relations to her current position as the agency's Senior Executive.
With a strong background and 20 plus years of experience concentrated in the areas of Business Management, Human Resources, Customer Service and Sales this proved to be an excellent match for her, having worked for such companies as Nalco Chemical Company, Honeywell Information Systems, United Airlines, ComDisco and Brandon Systems Corporation. At Brandon Systems she was a vital part of a five-member team responsible for the success of Brandon Systems start up office in Chicago.
In her current role Ms. Harrell works closely with the agency's C.F.O., Beverly
Smith and the management staff of 30 plus programs ensuring that all deliverables are met to provide the highest degree of quality services to our customers. She has received a service award from the Community Economic Development Association of Cook County (C.E.D.A.) and a Recognition of Exemplary Dedicated Service and Leadership award from the P.L.C.C.A.'s Board of Directors and the agency's chairman & C.E.O., Rev.
Dr. Claude Porter. She is a member of SHRM, Society for Human Resources Management and SHRP, Society for Human Resource Professionals.
