As a community action agency, we recognize the results that can be achieved when every facet of the community voluntarily joins together in a partnership to address common concerns.

Listed below are all of the programs that PLCCA provides under the umberella of the Children, Youth and Family Services Division.

Debra Ann Porter Childcare Center

The center enhances the childcare experience for low-income families to help revitalize the economy and create stable employment for low-income families. This center is dedicated in memory of the late Debra Ann Porter. (Daughter of Bishop Dr. Porter and Earnestine Porter.)

Hours of Operations:

6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m

The center serves children up to the age 12.

Early Head Start (0-3)

Head Start (3-5)

A federally funded, comprehensive child development program for families within the income guidelines.

Early Head Start Child Care Partnership

(EHS-CCP)

We are a federally funded full-day and full year family and centered based early care education program for low-income infants and toddlers ages 0-3. If you are looking for daycare, we have partnered with child care centers in Bellwood, Maywood and Melrose Park. PLCCA is the grantee for this partnership.

Joseph P. Abruzino Kidz N' Klubs Golf Academy (KNK)

A summer program that provides minority, handicapped, economically disadvantaged and at-risk youth (ages 8-17) from Proviso Township with the opportunity to participate in a positive, enjoyable and discipline game of golf. The program will enhance their knowledge and skills, build their self-esteem, self-control, and self-motivation.

Teen REACH

An after-school program that provides academic skill development, enrichment activities, and youth development/

prevention lessons through 6 core elements. The program serves 90, 6th-12th grade students across 6 participating schools during the academic school year and summer camp.

Opportunity

WORKS

A program that places young adults (ages 16-24) in subsidized internships, exposes them to viable careers, expands their skill sets and connects them to the training and resources they need to achieve long-term employment in growing industries.

CEDA - Women, Infant, and Children (WIC)

CEDA WIC is a supplemental food program providing nutritional education and free food vouchers to pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to their fifth birthday.
